Reinventing Recruitment: How to Stay Ahead
You have got to be constantly thinking about innovation as a business. If you stay static, the competition just blows past you.
I have personally had to reimagine our business model pretty much every three or four years. We went through a massive restructuring last year where we became a more automated business.
We installed new processes and offshored a fair bit, and that nearly halved the size of our workforce.
But we've made it twice as efficient because we're making the same revenue now with fewer people.
To make it in recruitment, you must keep innovating.
Marketing is something that a lot of recruitment agencies don’t make the most out of.
We've now got automated marketing systems and processes that engage with our clients and candidates. We have a large marketing team that enables us to do that - when I say large, it's four or five people, but for our business size, that's considerable.
Investments need to be made in certain key areas so that the business itself isn’t stationary, there must always be movement.
In business, surviving long-term doesn’t mean you get a medal at the end of it. You win in business by staying in business, and you do that by constantly innovating.
